Head of the Department for Regulation of Insurance Activities of the State Service for Regulation and Supervision of the Financial Market under the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic Timur Zulpukarov spoke about real estate and life insurance in case of military action.

“In total, in the Batken region, as of May 1 of this year, there were 9,540 insurance contracts, and 9,196 for housing. Of these, 100 percent beneficiaries – 365 contracts, fifty percent beneficiaries – 37. OJSC “State Insurance Organization” made Batken received 60 insurance payments in the amount of 3.04 million soms,” said Zulpukarov.
According to him, the State Financial Supervision Service proposed to insure all objects in the region.
“This will be done as part of the adoption of anti-crisis measures by the Cabinet of Ministers to help financially vulnerable segments of the population. It is planned to amend the law, which will make it possible to insure the houses of Batken residents at a social rate. If housing is damaged or destroyed during hostilities, they will be paid quite a large compensation, but not from the state budget, but from the funds of the insurance company. Let me remind you that, according to current legislation, military actions and their consequences are not an insured event,” the specialist explained.
Zulpukarov emphasized that the bill is still being approved and the State Financial Supervision Service is waiting for proposals to improve it.
